Getting Started with Loghema: Scripture on Screen in Minutes

Your first service with new software should not feel like a second job. The basic Loghema setup is simple: connect the audio your media team already uses, choose the Bible you want on screen, and test the output before the service starts.

Here is the setup I would use for a first run.

What you'll need

Gather these before you begin:

  • A Windows or macOS computer for the operator
  • A microphone, sound-desk feed, or audio interface the computer can hear
  • A second screen or projector for the congregation
  • An internet connection for setup, downloads, and online transcription

If you are using an Apple silicon Mac, Offline transcription is an optional extra. Install it from Settings first if you want English transcription to keep running without the internet. Windows and Intel Macs use online transcription.

Step 1 — Install Loghema

Download Loghema for Windows or macOS and install it on the computer your media team will use during services. Sign in when prompted.

If you are moving over from LogosAI, your existing login, license key, and subscription continue to work. There is nothing new to request or activate.

The first launch may also download Loghema's semantic Bible model. Let that finish before the service so the matching engine is ready when you need it.

Step 2 — Connect the service audio

Open the audio settings and choose the input that carries the pastor's voice. That might be a USB microphone, an audio interface, or a feed from the sound desk.

Say a few words and watch the input level. If the meter is moving, Loghema can hear the source. If it is not, fix that now rather than five minutes into the sermon.

Step 3 — Pick your translation

Choose your church's primary Bible from the operator panel. Loghema includes multiple translations, and Bible Bank lets you download more versions and languages when you need them.

SettingWhere to find itTypical choice
Bible translationOperator panel → BibleKJV, NKJV, or your church's preferred version
Audio inputSettings → AudioSound-desk feed or audio interface
Output displaySettings → DisplaySecondary monitor or projector

Step 4 — Start before the service

Start detection before the sermon begins. Ask the speaker to say a reference you know, such as “John 3:16,” then confirm that the right passage appears in the operator panel.

Loghema also looks for paraphrases, so try describing a familiar verse without saying its reference. The operator remains in control: check the match, correct it when needed, and approve the verse before it reaches the congregation screen.

Once the audio, translation, and display are all working, the rest of the setup should fade into the background. That is where it belongs.

Next steps

When you are comfortable with the basics, explore custom display themes, Bible Bank, and Offline transcription on Apple silicon. You can add those at your own pace; none of them needs to complicate your first service.
